There is a garden in our back yard that a small house would fit in. It has been overgrown with weeds until someone took great pity on us and helped us roto-till it. This garden is seriously huge, which is why I put Gabriel in this picture so you could see the comparison. I'm so excited to have fresh vegies this year. This neighbor helped me plant tomatoes, carrots, zucchini and beans. And I think there are some garlic plants growing already. Does anyone know if those come back every year? And along the back are raspberry plants! I had no idea they were even there last year. For shame, I could have eaten them all last summer. Gabriel's picking grass for me here.

that is a monster plot. you and david are going to have to eat a ton of whatever you are planting. you will be so healthy. i would think that if garlic is not picked it would continue to grow the next year. it is a bulb, isn't it? luckee.
Garlic should be taken in for the summer when the tops die back. Keep it cool and dry. In the fall, separate the heads into cloves. Plant each clove individually. Each one will become a new head.
Leaving it in the ground won't do much.
aaahhh - you have a garden. i am very jealous! where do you guys live, by the way? anyways, grow me some salmonella-free tomatoes please?
Hey! I've been reading your blog for awhile now - see my new blog, you are referenced - and have to say that Gabriel is the cutest little guy I've ever seen! I miss you!
