Christmas is finally here. Or over. We've had a great time with Grandpa and Grandpa Lee (as Gabriel says). My mom has been so sweet finding things for the kids to do. She made cookies so they could decorate them. They loved it and licked off all the delicious icing. Claire was very studious in her efforts and can now handle a butter knife quite well. Christmas Eve we sent them to bed in their new Christmas jammies. Claire finally gets girl pajamas. She's been wearing boy pajamas since birth because she has an older brother. Sorry, Chica.
My sister Nicole made this gorgeous quilt for my parents. It is so beautiful, this picture does it no justice. I figured this was the only way her siblings were going to see her masterpiece.
Now for the cream. Gabriel opened several toys and was very cute about them. But when he opened his Thomas the Tank Engine underpants, the kimchi hit the roof. He was beyond excited and started naming them one by one. And here I was almost feeling guilty for giving him underwear for Christmas. Claire must have felt from him how special they were, and knowing she didn't get any, began to grab at them to claim them for her own. When Gabriel wouldn't share, she threw the fit of the century.
It lasted forever. Seriously? I wish I could explain to her that it's just underpants and it's not that cool. This is the face of a little girl who did not get panties for Christmas.
She did, however, get her first baby doll with many accessories. David was trying to put the stroller together and used a butter knife as his tool. So she started using her butter knife skills to help him.
My mom made me blueberry pie just because I said I needed it. That's real love. It will be hard to leave Grandma's house. We will go home and starve because I don't feel like cooking.

Ha! And so it begins. Peter and I have learned that when you get one kid something, you have to get all of them something similar.......or else!!!!
Fun times eh?!!
Merry Christmas!!
Mmmm, pie. I love Claire's tantrum face! And I'm glad my kids weren't the only ones ruining the Christmas cheer that day :)
Oh, Makenzie. You know I love pictures of children having tantrums. And over Thomas the Tank underpants?! Best reason for a tantrum EVER. What's up with Mom making good pie for you and not for Thanksgiving?
And thanks for saying the quilt is a masterpiece. :)
ha ha, that underwear story is hilarious! but so true. kids fight over the silliest things. glad you had such a fun christmas and that you got a blueberry pie :-)
Hilarious tantrum face, Claire! Love it! Mom is such a fun holiday Grandma. She really makes it feel like the "old-fashioned family Christmas" that Clark Griswold longs for.
Oh Kenz this totally made my day. Sooooo hilarious.
I'm so in love with that story and that face. The only thing our Christmas was missing is a Grandma. They just make everything special.
