Happy Birthday, Claire!

Today is my baby girl's birthday. Just thinking about it makes me teary eyed. How did this happen? It seems like yesterday I was up all night in anticipation of a scheduled delivery the next morning. We pulled into the hospital parking lot and I burst into tears and didn't stop until she was out of me and I was asleep. The things we go through to bring these precious babies into the world, eh? It's so worth it. She makes me so happy with her sweet smile and her love for me. She's the most beautiful baby I've ever seen and we're so glad she's in our family.

On a side note, Michael Jackson and Farrah Faucet died while I was in the hospital recovering. Oh, the things I'll remember about those few days.

This is our second attempt at letting her eat cake. She really didn't take to it, thank goodness. Maybe it was the bib that was throwing off her groove.
We had some neighborhood kids over for cupcakes this morning. Gabriel led them to the strawberry patch, which kept them occupied for a long time. They all came back with dirt and strawberries all over their faces. I love our neighbors.
We had a June birthday party a few days ago with my family because there are 5 people with birthdays in June. My sister Nicole made the most amazing cake for the event and Claire wouldn't touch it, which meant I had to eat hers and mine.

Me and the birthday girl, who has finally decided to crawl. She's the best baby ever because I could put her down anywhere and she'd stay there for a whole year.
