David's family came to see us and we headed to Star Valley, Wyoming for a little outdoors time.
The men went white water rafting down the Snake River.
Grandma Isabel and I took a few nature walks with the kids.
The whole family went hiking in the Grand Teton National Park around Jenny Lake. It was so beautiful and so much fun.
That Sunday, David blessed Claire. We were so happy and grateful to have David's dad and mine there, along with my brothers.
Me and my pretty daughter. It's fun to have a daughter, I've decided. I've already dragged her to the fabric store and we watched Felicity together. I like having someone to do girl things with.
It was always the rumor around our place that Jen was named after that lake, is that true? Happy blessing day for Claire! I'm so glad you have your girl
So the legend goes...although it is curious that they insisted on spelling my name Jennie if they really intended to name me after the lake. Kenz, I love Claire's face in the last picture (the fabric store face?) and little tiny you in front of David's brother-hahahaha!! Looks like you have been making the most of your family visit.
It is true that I fell in love with the lake and the name when I was about 12 yrs old. Dad insisted on the French (and feminine)spelling of Jennie, so that's how that happened. I found out years later, after we had Jen, that the lake was actually named after Jenny Leigh, the wife of a French trapper. History lesson for the day.:)
How did I not know the legend of Jennie's name? What a beautiful lake. Makenzie, you look 12 years-old with a hat on. I had no idea it was you in that family photo by the lake. Hee! Sweet little Claire looks very pretty in her dress and bow. :) Girl stuff is more fun.
I didn't know the legend of Jen's name, either. How nice. That rafting picture is awesome! So sad we missed Claire's blessing day. She looks beautiful. I totally used to have Girl's Night when Chloe was a teeny baby. It's just fun, that's all.

And, when our Lee ancestors lived in Ireland (Carrickfergus, Antrim, Northern Ireland), they spelt their name LEIGH. It was destiny.
You DO look so small next to David's brother!! wow! (but then again, you ARE small even without David's brother behind you. ha ha!)
Claire looks so adorable! You made a cute baby!!! :)
