We had a scheduled C-section for Monday morning, and the moment we pulled into the parking lot I burst into tears and didn't stop until about 2 hours later, after she was out. I have an intense hatred of needles/blood/hospital procedures and I didn't sleep at all the night before, all factors leading to an out of control anxiety attack. The nurses hated me and everyone wished I was knocked out, including me. I would have run out the door at some point, but this wasn't a "now or never" ordeal; it was a "now or later" one. I chose the now. Everything went well with the surgery and my beautiful baby girl was born at 8: 13 a.m.. My recovery went really well, until about the second day when I just couldn't get rid of an awful headache. Turns out it was due to a hole being punctured in my spine from the spinal block, releasing spinal fluid to my brain. Apparently there's a less than 1% chance of such a thing happening when they do the spinal block, so, lucky me. I had the option of dealing with this massive headache for 2 weeks or having a spinal patch done, which is basically a disgusting epidural. At first I chose to deal with it, then I got depressed thinking of having to go home to my boys and be on my back for 2 weeks, so we muscled through it and all is well now.
I came home to a sparkling clean house and gorgeous girly flowers from my sweet husband. It's been a good week. Gabriel obviously loves his little sister (you like that face?). We took them to the park today and he kept kicking her while they were in their car seats. And he's getting some teeth in, so he's been a little unpleasant, but surely things will improve and they'll be BFF before we know it.
We have 2 kids. I can't believe it!

I wondered if you were a bow person or not. I should have known - now we can get down to BUSINESS, lady! Girl stuff is so FUN!
Also, Bridget asked me if I was holding Gabriel in the picture on your sidebar. I guess in black and white you and I are the same. Who knew?
